@sander_dutch: you've seen Chun-li before... right? She wears dark leggings and her outfit has a light area in the middle (that's not a mid-rif)

Wow. While, I'll be the first to agree that there are total idiots out there who might deserve a ban.. I can easily see a crappy customer service agent using this as leverage to get someone to accept whatever crap they tell them. I've had plenty of poor customer service experiences. I'm sure that if a company had a…
They did release something almost exactly like Crystal Pepsi in Japan about 2 years ago. I think it was called 'Pepsi Gold'. It wasn't clear like CP, but it tasted very similar.
@Maxathon: ha, that was the first thing I thought when I saw the image and I wondered how many commenters it would take before someone pointed it out. I didn't expect the very first one. :)
@Bernard McGraw: actually- that wasn't a rumor, really.. The PS2 does smooth PS1 textures and you can use the faster disk drive for faster loading, you just have to turn the features on. I was always annoyed that you had to turn on the texture smoothing every time you put a PS1 game on to do it.
In 6th grade my mom got a Mario t-shirt for me. This is during the NES era. The art was based on Mario 2. Anyway- I was too nice to tell my mom that, at that point in my life (6th grade) that I would never want to wear something like that to school. I was to concerned about not being seen as a 'dork' or something…
@DontCrossMyanimals: Funny.. because when I lived in Japan, Japanese people told me that Americans were technologically advanced.
It's a tie for me. Back before any of the Chrono Trigger rereleases, I got the game + box for $5 at a video store who was selling all their 16-bit stuff. Months later, I got the instruction book for free at a funcoland- they had a bin of old booklets and it was marked free.
@RealGamer1: is that how Nintendo has done so well? tapping into the "I wanna be a gamer" demographic?
When I was living in Japan, I knew a guy who was using (I think) a Slingbox that was hooked up to his parents' TV in Texas to watching Cable on his computer in Japan. I never got to see it firsthand, but I heard it worked well. He could even change the channels and everything. I guess the problem would be that you'd…
@Robotube: Ah yeah, I forgot about that! I think I ate there once. Yeah, funny how I craved some western foods while I was in Japan... and now that I'm in the US, I'd do anything for some good ramen or Japanese curry.
There's always TGI Fridays in Ginza... okay, maybe you shouldn't listen to me...
I guess that's why it's so easy to find Dr. Pepper in Tokyo and not in smaller cities.. all the foreigners. Dr. Pepper can be pretty intense if you've never had it. Maybe they're just packing it wrong. They could just put it in a little bottle and sell it for 100 yen like those little energy drinks they sell in…
and the secret message is...
I heard that you actually do waggle input by shaking the console, not the controller.
I thought the characters were fun... the plot wasn't so great. Decent action.
Personally, if I was a game producer, I would skip famous actors just to keep the budget in check.
yeah, I remember seeing in some arcade in Akihabara where you could dress up in various costumes and have your photo taken. They had a Nazi soldier costume. I also remember seeing Hitler mustaches for sale in the toy department of a department store.
Yeah.. this is my #1 reason for never really pursuing a game industry job. It's kind of been a dream of mine, but I'll stick to Web related fields. The hours are much better.
I'm surprised they bothered to release Renegade. I thought I was the only person in the US who owned that. I think the only reason I wanted it was it looked like Double Dragon which was either A) not released on the NES yet or B) sold out everywhere.. I don't remember now.
