The primary sponsor among 8 co-sponsors of a bill that passed unanimously though a Democratically controlled committee and a Democratically controlled congress isn’t the stinging indictment of the GOP you seem to think.

It was passed by a voice vote through both houses of Congress that were both held by Democrats at the time. The bill’s sponsorship was made up of 4 Democrats and 4 Republicans.

You don’t trust yourself with a gun.  We get it.  You don’t get to speak for everyone else.

Careful about biases though. I’m guessing you are in the pretty safe life camp (me too). Decent neighbourhood , more car than public transit, etc etc.

Something like this might be a good idea for all those freight trains being ransacked and pilfered in LA.

The Fox body is worth what people will pay.”

I think the skull motif and angry eyes is stupid as hell and can sometimes reflect toxic masculinity, but that has nothing to do with racism. It’s an American phenomenon which crosses racial lines. In my area, the people driving these kinds of Jeeps are minorities.

I always think more along the lines of “spot the douchebag”, rather thanracist” which has devolved to become the new catch all label for *people we don’t like”.

You see, if someone likes something that you don’t like, then you have to assume that everything else about them is the inverse of you as well. So it only stands to reason that if someone puts angry eyes on their Jeep, then they must also be a racist... who roots for the rival sports team... and wears socks with

Of course, diplomacy is and should always be our go to solution and we need to return to rebuilding our softpower. As Mattis said when he was secretary of defense “If you don’t fund the State Department fully, then I need to buy more ammunition ultimately.” Its erosion is a serious long-term risk to us.

I’m not a fan of angry Jeep eyes, either. But a racist identifier?

A stock Fox body is also fucking crap dude. Certainly not a a car worth $100k.

It’s a first year car with 23 miles. Could they buy a new one and drive and enjoy it? Yes, but that’s not the point of this car.

Come on, Jalopnik - tone it down with the “Ha, ha, can you believe idiots out there would pay this much money for this specific car” articles.

“Yea, It would be a bit different if things like food and hygiene supplies were stolen...”. So, just so i’m clear, law enforcement should be situational like here’s a list of things that are morally (who’s morals?) OK to steal, but here’s a list that aren’t. Yes, judges do have the ability to factor in mitigating

What do you expect from someone who was fired from Wirecutter just months into her new job there, for mentioning her position as “a journalist with the New York Times” (the NYT owns Wirecutter but she was not, nor ever was, a journalist with the NYT) in expletive-filled voicemails of her own opinion?

“Now, every outlet is calling these folks thieves, and sure, that’s technically correct.”

This weird apologist take is just bad. These people are thieves, stealing things from OTHER people who legitimately bought something despite the poor economy. This isn’t a stick-it-to-bezos thing. This is impacting folks like you and me who work to pay their bills, then get their hard-earned shit stolen by someone who

The old truck doesn’t have a stupid tablet glued on its dash. It has a real radio and a/c controls.

Call me when the EPA goes after the highest polluting countries in the world (China and India) or starts cracking down on the highest polluting industries (shipping/transportation and airlines).
