I believe the only truly great SLs were the W113:

A lot of people could argue that if you want a heavy, fast, and luxurious convertible, you get the M8.

Scotty Kilmer is a hack - it’s probably best you don’t link his videos here.

Has it been reliable? I just hit 30k in my ‘17 and I haven’t had any issues yet.

I did some looking into that. An Alltrack has a firmer ride even though it weighs more. I’m wondering if Tiguan suspension would be a better bet, or if aftermarket is the way to go.

Only on the R.

They’ve made some epic cars in the past. The original Khamsin, Bora, Ghibli, then in the 90s with the Shamal and the Ghibli Cup. They basically followed the same path as Lancia, which coincidentally also died while under Chryser control.

That is what we call anecdata.

Laguna Seca Blue, Yas Marina Blue, Estoril Blue....BMW is good at blues.

This might be my least favorite Lamborghini. The wheelbase is too short and the front and rear overhangs are too long.

If you’re ham-fisted enough to get out of shape in a modern 911, you won’t be better off in the R8.

*The Golf R is no longer available in a manual.

So, Mercedes made a brand new Buick Rendezvous?

One of my points is that the 911 Turbo is “boring” as well. It’s also better by every single metric, save for the number of cylinders.

When the first-gen R8 was introduced, I loved it. I thought of it as a weird, wild and wonderful competitor to the little Ferrari, the Lamborghini, and the 911 Turbo.

OK, I'll concede to you on this.

You like it? It's very generous.
