3-5 was an exaggeration. 1-3 a year is probably a more accurate number.

Most of the Android users I have encountered own 3-5 Android phones per year. So I'm guessing the number of individual users is much less than the 190 million sales number.

My guess is there is a very small number of people with legitimate problems, and then a larger but still small number of people that hear they should be having problems, and thus invent or exaggerate perceived problems in their head.
