Very cool. I have a theory about 80's gaming. I don’t think gaming would have grown so quickly in the 80's and early 90's if it didn’t primarily target children. Adults want things to make sense quickly (watch how fast many adults get frustrated with technology, while a kid will sit and mess with it) and a lot of home

I’m holding out for Legacy of Legend.

I’m in the same boat. I have my AT&T grandfathered plan. As much as I hate AT&T, I don’t want to lose this and am grateful they haven’t killed it so far. Ever since streaming music became a thing and since getting a car with solid phone integration, my data usage has gone through the roof. I used to struggle to use

True, but marketing isn’t always just about making a direct sale. Its about mind share, which can pay off in a ton of ways. My mom would never play it, but if she watched a crazy ad like this it gets mindshare and maybe she’ll think to buy it as a gift for me (even though I never play Madden, either- but she may not

getting people who would never watch a Madden commercial to watch a Madden commercial.

makes sense- test big changes in the comics and see how they go. If they work out, they’ll probably be the movie reboots of the 2020’s.

.

$5 is about what I paid for it new around 2001. Sold that 4 years ago for about $100... wish I kept it a few more years seeing the prices today. :)

Ah, I missed the call for these. I would have included this story.

There's no time to explain!

I've got a bad feeling about this.

Great read! Do you charge by the hour? Do most clients take all the services you offer, or do they just cherry pick? I'd be curious to know what you charge by the hour- if you can disclose that.

One thing I miss about the 80's and early 90's was how you could find arcade games EVERYWHERE. Sure, you found the most in arcades and/or malls, but restaurants and grocery stores usually had 1 or 2 arcade games- and they did a decent job of keeping up with the latest games. The first time I saw or played Street

yeah, unfortunately California is hording all the US locations

Yeah, based on the footage of this place, I would say it's probably the closest thing you can get to Super Potato in the US. Not sure if SP carries joystick parts , but SP had other fun things- like stacks of Famicom ROB the robots. :)

Ha! The Lara Croft memory card. I remember that hanging around the bargain bin at Electronics Boutique for years.

Reminds me of Super Potato in Akihabara. One of the things I miss about living in Japan. That, and Coco Ichibanya.

#corrections : you may want to change that to "hallmarks of eighties and nineties-era", The first 4 KQ games came out in the 80's.

I agree with you. I find that when I go back and play NES and SNES games, I run into that a lot more than on modern games.

Yeah, Nintendo missed a great hype opportunity by not launching something like this 2-3 weeks prior to launch. It would have been great to have an app to see all combinations and stats and even unlock requirements. They could have built hype even more by starting with only the default characters and then "unlocking" a
