I’m really looking forward to Don Winslow’s THE BORDER in February. The first two books in his fictional Cartel trilogy are excellent reading and can work as primers on facets of the drug war that many people aren’t aware of. Here’s hoping he can close off the story effectively.

And let’s just check my level of shock that Weatherly would be a skeezeball on the official Shockmometer: oh, it’s a 0.2. How about that.

I can’t believe this crap-looking show is so popular it got picked up for more with a $9.5.M settlement on the books and the offender still working there.

Might as well bring Charlie Sheen back at this point. One of their better-behaved employees, apparently.

I’m pro-choice, but it’s absurd to say that those who aren't are part of some secret scheme to keep people poor. They're not moustache-twirling supervillains. They genuinely believe that life begins at conception, and that abortion is murder. The conversation will never go anywhere if you don't attempt to understand

It’s a shame that there’s no way of saying that Ghostbusters is a lazy, sloppy, jumped-up SNL sketch without instantly finding yourself in the trenches of the culture wars alongside Milo Yiannopoulis.

INT. LEX LUTHOR’S LAIR - DAY

I realize that the crows in the original are...problematic. But goddamn, I love that song. It’s so great. Used to be in a band that covered it, up until we discovered that this also was...problematic.

Now I’ve seen a peanut stand, heard a rubber band, and seen a needle that winked its eye. But seeing a live-action rather gloomy elephant fly? Well, now I be done seen just about everything.

Someone just starting college has never seen a good Simpsons episode.

I think the show has set this up pretty well by showing how Dennis has exploited their psychological profiles for years. I feel a lot of sympathy for Dee and Mac and Charlie, just based on the psychology episode.

I think it’s kind of a cop out episode. It’s a beautiful dance and the message is a noble one (They didn’t even high horse by pointing out that all the straight people were doing the Pride float for the wrong reasons. You’ve forgotten about them by the end of the dance, so that’s worth noting that they didn’t go

ah yes, 2 whole years, the standard gap between albums since like the 1970s. how dare he?

Jehovah’s Witnesses is an odd organization. I lived in Brazil for a bit where the church is larger than it is here and had a pretty good friend who had been excommunicated from them. It’s a very insular religion; they don’t believe in praying with people from other faiths and discourage going to university and getting

Pipe down. Remini’s show has been relevant television for quite a while. This isn’t a Cardi B versus Nicki Manaj Twitter spat.

insane that people actually think this.  kanye is a sad story of a mentally unstable man who for the past two decades has changed what popular music sounds like several times over.  hes the most productive, most creative, and arguably best hip hop producer since premier.

I’m curious why the It’s-Okay-If-Sometimes-People-Die-Horribly-If-The-Rest-Of-Us-Are-Fat-And-Happy rabbits made you an atheist. Because I’m pretty sure the biggest hint that they’re a fucked up bunch is that they’ve eschewed the rabbit religion.

Not a popular choice, I’ve learned, but that is my favourite Bond song. Cornell is like a vocal god to me though, so I may be a little biased.

Counterpoints: a) he’s awesome; b) he can support himself for life off of fan conventions; c) he’s awesome; d) he’s easily Outback Steakhouse material; e) your manager at the Wawa said to get back to work

Fortunately they’re not in direct competition with some gorgeously hand drawn adaptation or something...
