You answered your own question on why it is being pitched. $$$$

Absolutely nothing. The characters you get for free are more than capable of beating all the story currently in the game.

This is even better than a Jailbreak, this is officially opening up the Analogue FPGA to open development. Getting a commercial piece of FPGA hardware with a publicly available SDK is so cool, and way better than the closed jailbreaks on previous Analogue systems. I wonder how many of the MiSTer cores could be adapted

There are a million cheaper, nicer devices for portably playing ROMs on the go - I’d recommend the channel Retro Game Corps for some nice reviews of portable emulation devices that support ROMs out of the box, have better ergonomics and portability, and cover a wider variety of systems than this bit of kit.

Here’s a blog from mGBA dev Endrift talking about their experience when they were in talks with Analogue to help with parts of the Pocket’s GBA core:

Eh, I find is really weird that Analogue, a company with a pretty polarizing reputation in the FPGA community, now want other FPGA devs to make cores for it’s product essentially for free.

Maybe you guys should talk to some of these community devs to get their perspective on it rather than just cheerlead for Analogue.

I’ve tried to game on my phone while commuting in London and it just doesn't do it for me.. I need physical buttons. This might be a very good pickup now, because with save states and ROMs I can pretend my train rides to work are exactly like my bus rides to school were!

Why do you keep posting their names? I'm pretty sure they were devastated when Riot straight up doxxed them.

Its shitty juvenile bullshit but I think people throw around words like “sexual assault” way to quickly for things that are clearly not.

This is such a bizarre choice. They had 18 months between the Quest 1 and Quest 2, and it’s been almost 22 months since the second headset dropped in October of 2020. Why take the PR hit when they could have just ceased production on the Quest 2, introduced a minorly upgraded Quest 3 as soon as they could get them off

I should note here that the definition of a “shortcut” being used in this video doesn’t mean the obvious, intentional ones Nintendo always litters its tracks with. It instead means an unintentional shortcut, one that relies on an oversight or exploitation of code to make some serious time savings.

To be fair, can any of the Sith characters really be taken seriously?  Seems like anyone using the Dark Side tends to be a little over the top.

I haven’t failed a game with its premise in the title this fast since Don’t Shit Your Pants.

How about if people want it you not go out of your way to dissuade people out of wanting to be excited about it by feeding negativity.

One can hope that there will be a next version of Steam Controller that will mimic the Steam Deck layout.

No mention of Gyro aiming, not even in passing??? The Deck has a unique feature, in that you can have it only active when you are touching the right stick.

Honestly, my order of importance for controller parity begins with Gyro in all controllers, which Xbox is the only outlier. Then it goes:
Rear Buttons (in base

Thanks. This absolutely should of been included.

I mean, the Steam deck is fine, and I’ve touched the back buttons and haven’t broken anything.

hm, I don’t have autoplay. I wonder why the difference.

MAJOR correction, NOT the legendary edition. LEGENDARY EDITION IS NOT COMPATIBLE!!!!! Special edition and Anniversary Edition only.
