I have been visiting this site for something like fifteen years. I almost certainly have admired Mike Fahey for longer than any bereaved colleague on this site, except perhaps Patricia because she no doubt admired him greatly. How dare you tell me how to grieve? It’s so self-aggrandizing and arrogant. You brought up

I don’t see how stating the factual actions I will take, in specific response to someone else’s post was virtue signaling. I don’t think you know what it means, look it up. I didn’t say the quote you said so maybe you need to reread. You can see that you went a little over the top. It’s fine, you obviously are

Again, you’re virtue signaling on a tribute post. It’s pretty gross, and you need some perspective if you think my original comment was “vile”. And I did leave. I’m only here because I just randomly thought about you when my news feed linked kotaku.

I’m fine with what I wrote. I’m not the one simping for stars on a dead man’s tribute post. The classy thing to do would have been to scroll by my post without saying anything, if you actually believed in what you’re espousing.

Facts. He’s the only reason I stuck around. Ignore the haters, Mike doesn’t actually care what you wrote and you didn’t say anything wrong.

I don’t think I will visit here anymore either

Yeah that's not a smoothing filter though.  That is handmade.

I mean either it is a full console-quality entry in the series released free on mobile, or it is a f2p gacha game with an octopath theme.  Let's not pretend in can be both.

Endrift is such a great dev. Also a woman, which is unusual in the emulation community.  Looking forward to reading this.

The only advantage of 3DS is native support for GBA and NDS (and 3DS) roms. Otherwise it’s a poor emulation platform. Old 3DS can’t even run SNES well.

The Mother 3 rhythm battle system still doesn’t work well on emulation -based devices. That’s literally the only game that will ever have an issue for 99.999% of gamers though. Otherwise emulation is more or less perfect. Integer-scaling is already a feature of modern emulators.

The watara library is well preserved and emulation is good enough. We honestly don’t need a ton more work put into this trash system with a trash library.

Then why is the author pitching it as a legit series entry in octopath traveler? The article already felt like an ad for the game but now it’s not even an actual coherent game?

“While mobile gacha games often have a bad reputation for being a cash grab, it’s clear that the developers of Champions put very careful thought into designing a turn-based RPG that feels good to play.”

Yeah I have been holding out on a quest 3. Maybe this is just a trick to sell off quest 2 inventory before August.

The Steam controller was missing a d-pad and right stick though. This is a huge difference and it is really no comparison to the Steam Controller imo. I have the SC and it is special but it sucks for FPS because of the missing stick. I would be all over it if they released this design as a new Steam Controller.

Nah compare them side to side. This has some similarities to the steam controller but it is way better.  It has normal right stick and d-pad and two extra back buttons.

The Steam Controller as a controller replacement was terrible, but as a KB/M substitute in certain games it is outstanding. As a couch gamer, it makes many games that would be otherwise unplayable work perfectly, e.g., Warcraft 3, Factorio, Starbound, etc. It’s definitely a niche product, but as of now it is an

I would buy several of these Steam Planks

I always thought a big fail on the originalsteam controller was the missing right stick. It prevented using this hybrid system for FPS you described.
