Nice Wheels!
I love that it is immaculate and original. This truck appears to have been driven 5000-6000 miles per year, which is very low for 25 years. Dealer claims to be expert in this type of vehicle, so I would assume he gave a fair price, and knows the market value. All signs are positive for this vehicle, and it could be…
I suppose for an R32 this is a good price. But for this price I can get 2010-2012 GTI with comparable mileage. Newer is probably better.
Car is ugly in a good way. Mods are interesting. Price is fair. Ad is pulled.
Rich, interesting background. Can you expand on your story of two coupes?
Criminally underrated? Pretty subjective. Is this based on the enthusiast community, or purely sales volume. Lots of good cars don’t sell that well for well documented reasons.
For $1000 less I can get a low mileage 328i.
Not a big risk taker here, so that may be my biggest regret! So this isn’t a huge regret, but maybe just nostalgia.
This car is a NOT-MIATA. Maybe that makes it worse. But for what it is, it’s NP. I see used ones with 150K for 4500, withing negotiating range on this.
Ummm.... subjectively, rudeman.
Learned to drive on this car’s momma, a 1974 Dodge Dart. Also learned to wreck cars on the 1974 dodge Dart. I liked to jump railroad tracks. That was repairable. Ended up rolling it on the jog at the county line. 85 mph seemed like a good idea at the time. Or was it 95? I have no idea, because I passed out. But God…
So I’m guessing you’ve never been in a Chevy Chevette. Vastly inferior to it’s deathtrap contemporary, the Pinto.
First thought is Chevy SS, won’t hit the budget. Same for Kia Stinger.
I’ve owned 4 total Mopar, grew up a fan. Now I’m an old guy, who has kept cars a long time, personal drivers only a total of 5, depending on how you count switches with wifey. I’m into my sixth/seventh, but still trying to DD #5.
I’ve seen numerous testimonials about these developing reliability when certain service failures were resolved.
That was high school graduation! Enough to pack some crap into and go to college.
Nowadays there’s the Hyundai Veloster and… jeez, is that it?
Agreed, that is the question. What is the market for the truck? Will it be a halo offering, or something more profitable.
That sounds awesome, except today’s consumer is looking for luxury and sedan ride and handling. Check out the current F150. This is why the FJ Cruiser didn’t sell. Too utilitarian (and funky).
Here is the midwest I see light to medium rust and around 150 Kmiles for 6-8K$. At 188 Kmiles on this offering, you may well have some project work ahead of you, but if it is as rust free underneath as it appears up top, this could be a solid NP.
