Not straight six, turbo anything!
Not straight six, turbo anything!
NP, but only if a cooler fits in that shallow bed.
Ad says 130 Kmiles.
Thanks so much for sharing your opinion. I decided to look for a 128i manual for a long term ownership to complement my 9-5 wagon. Purely practical, balanced by (IMO) purely sport.
Maybe there’s an enthusiast who really loves the idea of this car, which in it’s time, was modestly special.
So this is the issue. Reasonably the customer can request a refund, or rework. Think about something wrong with a new house you spec out.
Saw one exactly like it for $15K. Except somewhat higher miles and somewhat rusty. So I don’t hate it, think it is overpriced for what it is, but I’ll give it a narrow NP. Really depends on ownership history.
This one is in 968 territory.
For me, this is the rare case where the conversion adds value to the car.
That engine bay looks immaculate. Makes me wonder if it has been driven since the swap. Condition fair, last two words of ad. This seller is desperate, so therefore, this could be NP.
Drakkon-
It’s an ‘88 Ford with 120 Kmiles; it’s gonna need some work, even if it looks like it don’t. This looks like a reasonably well used car, that has been reasonably (or immaculately) well cared for. Kudos to the seller for a nice presentation. I love the wheels, and 300#’ will get you down the road with normal traffic.…
There’s a reason it was never painted. That might be a reason not to buy it. There’s all kinds of reasons to look at this, if it is your thing. I find it curious, and priced right. I’m not interested in the least.
Star for FZ reference.
IMO-Only reason to buy this is nostalgia.
This car is NP if it is what you want. Body and interior look very nice for 35 yo car. Rust appears to be held at bay. Assuming it runs straight down the road and pulls up to 75 mph to cruise down the highway, it would be a cool classic to be behind the wheel. Plus why not money!
First off I’m not a truck guy. However, I see appeal to this on several levels. But...While low mileage sounds good, think about the number of hours this thing may have been run. 50 years old, could be 30,000 hours. And what about the odometer? Does it reverse in reverse? This could have been a snow plow on base. I…
Gotta counterpoint that one. Granted, mine was a first year base model - 1995. I’ll also say that it wasn’t bad to drive when new. It was a solid upgrade from the 84 Escort I replaced with it. that is not saying much, though.
Thanks for perspective from someone in the industry. As a former salesperson (most abusive boss in my 40 year employment history), I know car sales is a very tough business, and there are some great folks providing valuable service to the community.
I do the opposite. I go to regional dealers based on the selection I want. I tell the salesperson I am evaluating several models that day and want to drive his. (granted much lower selection on a 4C!) I then go to the local dealer and hammer him for the deal I want. If the original salesman gave me a reason to buy…
