I want this show instead.

Matt Damon as Aquaman in a Zack Snyder movie? One of my friends described this as "not something I have high expectations for, but something I would sneak vodka into the theater for" which I think about sums up my feelings.

I think it's been compared before, but it really reminds me of Anna Torv in Fringe. I was not into her performance at all at first, and man did I eat my words on that one

I kind of like how Shado's ghost is goading Slade. I feel like he seems pretty rational (and so in control of everyone and everything all the time), so it's nice to have a reminder that hey, the Mirakuru did make him kind of crazy, and that that could be a weakness to exploit.

I don't have a problem with that conceptually at all. My issue was with the execution and direction. There's a lot of fairly solid evidence that Oliver is Arrow, but Katie Cassidy seemed to have trouble emoting anything but puzzlement when she looked at her ludicrously small corkboard. When she saw Sara, they played

I really love them both. I'm rewatching them with a friend now, and they do a great job of establishing that they're telling two different stories. Buffy will always be first for me, and part of that's a time and place thing, but wow Angel is great. It's more consistent overall, and I love the super existentialism

Enver Gjokaj comment synergy. He could play the salmon ladder. I'd buy it.

The Guild of Calamitous Intent?

Yeah, I was really impressed with him there. And in Dollhouse, actually. In the first few episodes, I had him pegged as phoned in science nerd, but he ended up becoming one of my favorite characters largely because of Kranz's awesome work. Dollhouse really had a lot of great cast members (Enver Gjokaj for everything!).

Hey, at least we got the Spike and Dru in Italy scene ("Ciao").

R.I.P. Deputy Doug, Pacey's Brother From Dawson's Creek

Yup. Thanks, Teen Wolf. I could pick it out of a lineup after all the locker room scenes.

I was happy where it ended up, and happy that Laurel got some perspective. It was a good character moment for Laurel to put herself aside (and her character's tendency towards righteous ranting) and realize there was something bigger at stake.

Fran Kranz was surprisingly ripped in Much Ado. He could (maybe) pull it off.

I'm bummed out we had an "Oliver is the Arrow and the Arrow is Oliver…could they be connected?" thread last week, because this took it to the next level.

After Angel I was rooting for Acker. I mean, Illyria? Damn.

THE A.V. CLUB
people on this site think too much and can not just enjoy

Yeah, Thea's speech was really solid. I was pretty much like "well, that's fair."

They don't teach you that in Single Female Lawyer Law School!

Man, Laurel figuring out the Arrow secret was a lot of unintentional hilarity for me, made worse by the continual flashbacks. So Slade tells her that Oliver is Arrow, so she makes a bulletin board of all things Arrow and stares at it in deep thought instead realizing it's somewhat obvious.
