Nearly. They were incarcerated in lunatic asylums, and the public used to go and visit there for entertainment. The best-known was the asylum at Bethlem Royal Hospital in London - the word ‘bedlam’ derives from its name and the chaotic activities inside.

I loved the ‘Edwardian Farm’ one. It was especially poignant about the loss of working horses with mechanisation, and the loss of such a huge swathe of the UK’s young male population in World War 1.

Ahahahaha then you’re in for a shock. It’s set in France but most of the interiors were filmed in the UK, specifically at Wilton House.

‘Obviously there’s loads of disgustingly gorgeous French interiors’. Um, no. They filmed most of the interiors at Wilton House near Salisbury in the UK, plus at a few other English stately homes. Just dressed them with French furniture.
