If you spend more than $5k on a popup you’ve spent too much. Find a used once that didn’t have a fur-ball dog or smoker as a past occupant and you are set! If you find a small to medium sized one they can be towed behind most crossovers, SUV’s and even larger cars. I tow mine behind an Escape and it works well.

Or! You can rock the hand-me-down 1984 Starcraft popup camper! Cheapest option, can store it in a normal garage, easy to tow/park, and has very little yearly maintenance needed. Just choose a camping spot close (but not too close) to the campground toilets/Walmart entrance.

Every DOT, county road maintenance division etc has various stanards. But generally they should all be “as soon as possible”. Many agencies have a way to report damage - it may be worth sending a report.

The (Federal portion) of the gas tax that we pay every time we fill ours cars has not gone up since the 70’s. Not even enough to keep up with inflation. Name anything else that is still the same price today as it was in the 70’s that plays such a vital role in our economy and everyday lives.

That is why I HATE when people wave at an intersection. I automatically know they have no idea how to drive. Just know the damn rules about who goes first and go when its your freakin' turn.

I guess its not the same then here in Minneapolis/St. Paul. There are 2 firms that have first rights to any accidents/abandoned cars. Sure, your car breaks down you can call AAA or your own firm. But after a certain time it gets hauled off by one of the contracted firms.

Right, but those contracts are pretty lucrative. Again, I think what they are doing is cool but it is an issue that the clubs should work out with the state DOT's and Highway Patrol so that there aren't issues later. (Lawsuits, injuries, etc...)

Not that I don't like what they are doing. But my guess is that the tow truck operators that have contracts to clear state roadways will not be terribly happy that they are losing out on business.
