I get this logic completely. We recently bought our first house. My key factor regarding location was simple: If I’m buying a single-family home it should either be walking distance to amenities OR mine should be the only family I’d be able to see. The middle ground of owning a house where I’d have to drive everywhere

To Boston and back in the winter on the highway: 200 miles + highway inefficiency + cold + wet roads = 275-ish I think.

Correct. I think it is lost on many (most?) people that all watches that watch people care about are 100% mechanical, i.e. zero electronics, batteries, etc. I think the same people that are fascinated by cars are also fascinated by how a collection of gears, springs, and levers can be fashioned to tell time, change

Seconded

She can’t be the first Asian-American woman to hold a cabinet level post unless she somehow become Asian-American and/or a woman after being Secretary of Labor.

I like how “Crazy” is playing in the background.

Holy shit. It just so... holy shit.

“If the moon was made out of cheese, would you eat it? I know I would.” Oops, I mean ribs.

Makes sense as ABS is required there now, though I forget if it is for all bikes or only bikes of a certain CC or capability. Also, I’m a fan of ABS on motorcycles. Both times I went down was from the front washing out, two accidents that ABS would have prevented. I am excited about the future of Zero and electric

Oh, agreed. I would much rather they stay solvent and making bikes than adding traction control or whatever else doodads, however nice their addition would be. If battery and electric motor technologies’ future is as bright as everyone (including me) believes then by the time they add standard traction control, Zero

Thanks! Hopefully, when they finally opt for traction control they spring for the good Bosch unit.

I’m confused about the brakes. The Zero website says they have Bosch ABS units. I can read your article two ways: they didn’t have the funds to spring for Bosch at all OR they didn’t have the funds to spring for GOOD Bosch units. Can you clarify for me?

Yikes. I don’t know if you guys know what a spud for ice testing is but it looks like they attached one to the side of this thing.

Sad. I guess re: the 701, is there any difference between the two other than wheels?

Did you find out anymore about these?

Did he really say 400 seconds from a set of tires? Like in just regular driving? A little over 6.5 minutes? I mean they definitely won’t last that long doing a burnout.

Will you take the dual-sport offroad? I have said before that the idea of an electric dual-sport is very appealing to me. Near silent rides through the woods with no leaking fluids or smelly exhaust could open up a lot more space to motorcyclists.

I was so excited to see the call to arms to improve motorcycle journalism answered. I have been very happy with the improvements you have brought to Lanesplitter. I would echo the others about what we would like to see more of, i.e. everything: gear, different perspectives (women riders, newbies, oldtimers, sport

The FX (the dual-sport) is the one for me. The thought of riding through the woods, desert, and what-not without making a ton of racket is amazing. Just think, you could hear the rocks under the tires and smell the outdoors without exhaust fumes mucking it up; you won’t scare the wildlife away; if you dump it and

A man of good taste. There is something to be said for the unsexy side of practical and fun transportation. I think if you put the two together and squint, it’s kind of like a Miata with more storage. Though the Golf being a TDI, I now have that nonsense to deal with. And the Versys has a KYB shock so there is that
