Quite frankly I appreciate the fact that I didn't have such an emotional attachment to the character that died.

I think you need to be a kind of masochist to enjoy watching anime where your favorite characters die. (P.S. I've never seen past THAT episode in "Berzerk").

This anime is quite old, I saw it ages ago. I didn't think it was that good as everything ends in a sort of Deus ex machina way. It was fun to watch along the way but the content was far too dark and depressing to leave a good lasting impression. Currently I'm enjoying watching "Log horizon" and "Sword Art Online."..…
