“an attorney friend (not an estate lawyer)“
Size doesn’t mean complex nor lack of size easy. The most complex estate I ever dealt with was small. The largest was not complex. It was easy.
I have made $$$ off of cleaning up Legal Zoom messes. I’d say just pay an attorney a few hundred bucks to do an estate and incapacity plan and get it done the right way.
(1) Recognized and correct are two different things
Yes. As a probate attorney, I concur.
Thank you - I spend a lot of time cleaning up messes for people who did not do this.
No. What if she and her parents all die in a car crash? What if they are on disability and her leaving them her estate costs them t heir benefits?
Um, do you realize that you go through probate whether or not you have a will. It’s just how difficult it can be. In some cases, intestacy is better than a defective will and a contest.
Actually, in those circumstances, writing out a holographic will in your own hand is better than a pre-printed form. Provided you sign and date it.
“r. Even a crappy will from the B&N books is better than no will at all.”
As I stated above: Shell out the $150 and ask an attorney to do this.
Do NOT use preprinted forms or Legal Zoom. Shell out the $150 and ask an attorney to do this.
