The problem is not that it’s unsafe, the problem is that cops must hold themselves to higher standards.

I sort of agree. Sure, it’s obnoxious to feel entitled to your parents’ money, but when you’re making plans for your financial future and suddenly discover you’ll have less than you had been reasonably expecting, it’s human nature and not particularly douchey to be disappointed or even angry.
