It’s a zero-down, 24 month lease, though. Most of the really cheap leases were for longer terms, or required at least something down.

Just because you CAN buy something outright, doesn’t mean you SHOULD buy it outright. All depends on the terms of the financing.
Could, because they’d need to be tried and convicted first.
Even if you’re talking Aeroflot, it’s incredibly safe. Since 2000, 129 people have died in Aeroflot crashes, vs. around 950 million people transported. So, your odds of dying in an Aeroflot crash in the modern era have been about 1 in 7 million.
People can, of course, use any criteria they want when determining how to travel. With that said, anybody who is choosing their flights based on the aircraft used, who doesn’t also wear a crash helmet when in any motor vehicle, doesn’t have a realistic assessment of risk.
The RS6 wagon is the unquestioned answer to “you can have any car you want, but you can only have ONE car.” That said, why anyone would take a near-perfect vehicle like that, and brutalize it like this, it beyond me.
Or travel back a little bit farther, and tell the proud owner of a new 1981 Lamborghini Countach that, in 2024, a Camry could beat his car’s 0-60 time.
Great post.
His advice on debt makes some sense for a certain group of people. It’s like alcohol: for the large majority of the population, a message of “no alcohol, ever, at all” is overkill. For alcoholics, it can be good advice.
Really, whether the 15 year mortgage makes sense for someone depends on (a) whether they can afford the higher payment vs. a 30 year, and (b) the difference in the interest rate between the 15 and the 30. In a situation where the rates are very close, the option to pay over 30 years has value.
True to a degree, but those prices are higher for everybody, not just those with cashback cards. In a similar vein, retailers pass through the cost of handling returns in the price of goods. If free returns magically vanished, prices would come down (somewhat - some of the cost savings would be captured by the…
Or showing up to pickup at XYZ Hebrew School in a van advertising your Bacon Cheeseburger business.
There’s a huge difference between the government saying “you can’t do/say XYZ” in this state and a private entity saying “you can’t do/say XYZ on my property.” You can walk down the street wearing an I Love Hitler t-shirt - that’s free speech. A restaurant can certainly tell you to change or dine elsewhere.
Agreed. Not going to bother with doing a complex 180 in a busy gas station to get my gas cap right next to the pump.
True, but it sounds like there’s lots of evidence that would prove he was street racing, but it can’t be prosecuted without a police officer having seen it.
I certainly get that there isn’t enough evidence to show that he was driving the car when it was in the crash, but the part I cited is regarding the potential for charging him with street racing. As I understand it, to prosecute for street racing (and other vehicular crimes), they actually need the police officer to…
Even if Jordan had been street racing, authorities told TMZ that because that’s a misdemeanor offense, an officer would have to have seen Jordan behind the wheel of the car
Growing up, a friend’s dad was a heart transplant surgeon. Motorcycle accidents were a big source for them, although that tapered somewhat after helmets became mandatory, since you no longer had as many of the “crash wasn’t too bad overall, but he landed on his head” scenarios. Her dad never took time off for Memorial…
That really looks like somebody took a Q7 and bolted on a Bentley grille. Hideous.
I learned to drive stick on a Starion.
