My understanding is that the tax looks at up to the last 4 years, but would the first year tier of tax not kick in next year for a team that was over the threshold for this year? I responded to you in a different post but if that is not the case then my understanding is wrong.

Edit: In a scenario where the team does not pay the tax this year, but does during the next 2, this would save the repeater tax from setting in during year 4 right? I don’t think the writer has a great grip on the situation with the Nuggets and used this trade as an excuse to shit on Kroenke.
