Yes. I still think it’s lucky for the Preds that Rinne is on what could be considered a hot streak right now, rather than say, 30 games ago, but I can agree to disagree on that point. (And I think Rinne is an excellent goalie, I have no disagreement there; I’ve listened to people kvetch about his age all season, so

Maybe I chose a bad example (I don’t personally think I did, obviously), but to say there’s absolutely no luck in hockey is just wrong. I don’t get why you’re so insistent luck doesn’t exist. I guess maybe your point is just that at this point teams aren’t here because of luck? Idk if I agree but I could see that

He has a 94.5% save percentage through these playoffs, historically his average is roughly 2 percentage points below that. They could actually not expect him to play at the level he is playing presently. He is literally having his best playoffs ever, by a far margin. If you want to call it variance, or random chance,

I’m not saying luck is the reason people win 7 game playoff series but you can’t argue that it’s not lucky for the predators that Pekka Rinne is playing the best he has in years.

I’m a fan of what’s going on in the NHL right now (though some of it is luck); I understand some people think that there should be definite great teams in the league (I don’t think this can happen all the time).

who wants to see the same thing three years in a row like nah mate

Honestly, is this news? I guess Katy’s confirmation is, but beyond being slightly more explicit in contract negotiations this isn’t something I didn’t know.

hahaha unfortunately no, electrical engineer and double bass

lol, is your friend me? i’ve given up on fixing it. i’m pretty good at keeping it out of my vocabulary when needed but otherwise... lost cause.

Bad Blood is so bad. At least this song has a nice beat.

I’m sure someone has already said this, but iirc at least some of Chicago’s problem was the owners refusal to broadcast the games? Obviously they would still have sucked, but if you can’t watch the team on a local network, it’s hard to drive up interest

At most hockey games I’ve gone to, the men’s bathroom line has been longer than the women’s line. Which, given how often the opposite is true, I don’t think is that unfair. The men’s line still moves faster than the women’s. (disclaimer that I’m a woman I guess)

Haha yes, I have. I guess the trade-off with drive thru is that you have to get out of your car, but it’s so easy.

Airlines know whether you’ve checked in to the flight. I think they can tell if you’ve gone through security, as your ticket is scanned there. They can use those records to tell who is present to board.

If I used public transit I could deal with a much longer commute. I do not and it is not an option for my current workplace.

Yeah, I could definitely put up with a longer commute via public transit. I’m just incapable of focusing on driving for very long in the mornings. My current commute also has very little traffic which is a plus.

Drive-thru windows at panera make no sense to me. It is kind of fast food but it takes so long sometimes. The best thing is being able to order ahead.

Is Panera fast food?

I mean, that’s roughly 4 pints of beer, but like, two beers? I dunno 2 beers, 4 beers, whatever.

Oooh I did not see that yesterday, I’ll check the deadspin post.
