I would play the shit out of this on PC.

It was a question made out of curiosity, not practicality. That being said, I’d imagine there are at least a few people out there wringing their Teslas out - you don’t need to go to a drag strip to do quarter-mile runs, or any kind of run, for that matter.

How many WOT quarters can you run a P85D with a full charge?

I bought a ‘13 Golf TDI new and sold it back 20k miles in because it was falling apart from every angle, including 2 DPF replacements - I guess I probably shouldn’t hold my breath for any sort of reimbursement for my inconveniences because I don’t still own it, eh?

I keep hoping I win the lottery so I can see what it feels like to buy one of these new before they’re gone.

I’ve relearned this lesson several times. I think I got it down now, though. Maybe.

Sept. actually wasn’t that bad for VW. At least, overall. Those used-vehicle sales figures, however ...

Not a day goes by that I don’t pat myself on the back for selling my TDI after the second DPF replacement prior to its warranty expiration. I’m sure my problems are way outside of the ordinary but I’m glad I don’t have those consistent emissions equipment issues to deal with on top of all this defeat device malarkey.

As an enthusiast, you still have a shitload of gas-powered cars to choose from. Unless you meant DIESEL enthusiast ... in which case, there’s always the used market prior to the affected years of TDIs or other brands. The 335d is still, in general, grossly overpriced for most used models, but I see folks have a lot of

Like sex, there’s just no substitution for the real thing.

So I’m assuming that anyone from any of the countries that we’re allowed to drive in are also allowed to drive in the U.S. with only their home nation’s driver’s license?

I kinda wish the FiST got central exhaust.

Like the majority of VW’s over-engineered doohickeys, these potential additional defeat devices would probably not remain functional very long.

How reputable is “Bild” newspaper? Because it’s got an article about Cristiano Ronaldo with a photoshopped picture of a topless woman on the beach in it’s most-read section. My guess is ... “not very.”

That makes too much sense. That policy has no place in government.

Every time a dealer has a vehicle I know they want to move on the lot that is fully loaded, I try to find this out beforehand and then go in requesting them order me a bare-bone base version of that vehicle (this works better when shopping for a new vehicle, since it’s much easier to order a base vehicle than to

I had probably one of the most fun test drives of my life in one of these, preceded by the salesman’s recommendation: “drive it like you stole it.” I probably would have bought it had they not tried to ream me.

Political ties bind me but anything you can dig up regarding the German government’s knowledge of the deceit would be juicy investigative journalism pieces, for sure.

I sometimes wish I could publish headlines like this without getting fired.

Former Golf TDI, current FiST owner here. I’ve never seen anything close to 43 MPG on the highway, maybe you’re thinking about 33 - but I don’t really miss the Golf at all.
