“Okay, honey, just be careful and don’t get it too dirty!”

The first car I ever drifted was an Oldsmobile 98 - still one of my fondest, if not purely idiotic, memories of growing up.

How do you tune a renown?

Going by what you know about the car, do you think it was worth the $70k as-tested price or would the average purist be perfectly satisfied with the most basic version?

I see Kizashis all the time - perhaps I just commute with the handful of folks that bought them in my area.

If I hadn’t been bitten by the massive repair costs of fixing the emissions equipment in the TDIs I would consider another one, but I swore I’d never do that to myself again (even though it was soooo perfect for the type of driving I do every day).

Their customers are basically human goldfish.

Unfortunately this doesn’t change the legroom.

I know someone else mentioned the hybrid but the vehicle I forget exists is this specific color of Crosstrek. I always seem to notice them during the spring because they always look clean. It’s like they’re color-matched for pollen or something.

Yep, he had three: a black one that he drove, a red one that his wife/gf/whatever drove, and a silver one that for some reason he always had a car cover on. Perhaps it was his backup?

One of these shows up in my parking lot about once a month. I’m guessing it’s someone that’s visiting one of my neighbors but I’ve never seen anyone get into it or get out of it. It’s either just there or not there.

I had a neighbor that collected these - would take up three parking spots in front of his apartment with them lined up. I don’t understand most people.

I don’t know where you guys are finding these gnarly ladies but it’s good to know they exist.

My MkVI TDI was also a nightmare and I couldn’t get rid of it fast enough.

I hope your Golf doesn’t give you as much trouble as mine did. I had to do exactly what you just mentioned - I “dumped” it before the warranty ran out. It had so much work done while under warranty that I just couldn’t justify keeping it even though it was very good at what it was made for while it was working

I think the attraction to things like iPhones and Corollas is they’re borderline idiot proof. Like you, I don’t care about phones, and the iPhone does everything a smart phone does pretty well without being an intrusion into my life. Some people feel the same way about their cars, they just want them to work and get

I’ve been going through something similar with completely different search criteria. I’ve been trying to downsize, both on price and on size, into something sporty and reliable I can drive every day, preferably a roadster. The biggest problem I’m running into so far is that I just need room for me but some roadsters

I’ve seen a few in person and driven one, I’m still on the fence about whether or not I find it attractive.

I’m on the fence about this one.
