As a Subaru owner, I can’t agree more. I have considered the Ridgeline for just the added function or a bed and some towing capacity over the Subaru.

You’re being pedantic. For one thing, many homeowners do a lot of stuff that a Fit could not handle. For example, I’ve been hauling 2000-3000 pound loads of dirt, mulch, and gravel this summer. Try that in a Fit.
The price ramp up is much quicker on the Q7 as you add options / go up in trim levels. Makes sense they’d keep the money maker.
It is, as the article mentioned, but I think that the Q7 and Touareg are closer to being twins than the Cayenne. Really, selling the Q7 and the Touareg in the US didn’t make a whole lot of sense.
eh, I feel like its being bought as an adventure vehicle, which its perfect for. Think subaru crowd that wants a bed. I most often see them with a couple kayaks in the bed and a family of 5 in the cab. People carrier with a bed is a nice formula for those who dont need the towing capability of a truck.
Agreed, no time in the near future. All you have to do is look around and see how many trucks are out there with 3rd party beds on them.
The Ridgeline leaves me cold as a long time full-sized truck owner, but I think it is overall good for the segment to bring some legitimacy back to the mid-sized market and don’t see…
And this is the configuration 90% of people would want anyways. I would take a long bed but not sacrifice the crew cab. The point of the ridgeline is that its a people carrier with the added bonus of a bed, so the crew cab is essential.
It’s just too dang expensive compared to 1/2 tons with rebates. That’s the issue with small trucks. They’re priced a little too high IMO.
This is why we have adblockers. If sites can’t be bothered to use a reputable ad network, I’ll just block them entirely. Easy peasy.
Yes, yes, please don’t flip the Valkyries.
You mean the ones that constantly infringe on intellectual property rights because they cant think of their own designs? Sorry but you cant call company company respectable if you cant even come up with your own vehicle design.
Translation: We don’t care about yuan being frozen; our current business model is to steal as much American dollars from the state of Nevada as possible before we disappear.
A more efficient car or electric car is cheaper in use, which is a major selling point.
That’s what I’m expecting for exactly the reason you stated. You don’t develop an entirely new engine architecture and then abandon it four years later.
If Volvo seriously plans to have all this ready in two years, I suspect it’s already been underway for 5+ years. You don’t exactly turn on a dime with things like that. It’s a little bit surprising to me since they put so much R&D into their twincharging technology, I wonder if most of the cars won’t be just “token”…
How is it a production car if they haven’t produced nor sold any?
Step one: get better tires.
I usually just ride half on the shoulder and half on the road with my work truck.
