Sometimes outside car thermometers are so inaccurate that they feel like random number generators. They’re basically the worst feature of the car, next to the car’s infotainment systems. That’s because [...] they’re actually thermistors.

The local shop I use for all my old Jag work told me this morning they had a kid drop $60k at the Chevy dealership literally next door for a brand-new truck, and then come to their shop to have them cut the muffler off. Same kid called back in this morning while I was standing at their front desk; now he wants the

Agree with your premise, but the math is wrong. If 100 people died in the past 10 years where 10 * 1000 people ascended, that means that 10000/100 = 0.1 = 1% mortality rate. Still worse than anything you can do this side of bear wrestling.

Dammit, math is hard. 100 out of 10,000 is a 1% mortality rate.

Death threats are definitely not justified, but it’s mighty difficult to feel sympathy for a shady dealer that gets run over by their own shitstorm.

Talk about leaving money on the table.

Sold it to the man for $700, just as much as I bought it for. 5 years later, it’s got bumpers of a different color, but it’s still driving around with the 4x4 stickers on it!

Next week GM announces they’re taking back all 12 Bolts they sold, suspending all leases, crushing them, shredding the crushed ones, setting the shreds on fire, and peeing on it to put the fire out. The autonomous driving team, revealed to be a family of elite trained hamsters from Flynt, will all be laid off. GM’s

A working car for $700 is hardly a ripoff.

5 years later, it’s got bumpers of a different color, but it’s still driving around with the 4x4 stickers on it!

Point taken - retromodness diminishes collectible equity. However, it does add value in other respects. Enough to overcome bastardization? Them’s the fixin’s of a good debate.

I get originality on a car you buy for the driving experience like an air-cooled 911. But nobody is buying a VW Bus because of the sonorous engine. No, you buy a VW Bus for style, and this one has it in spades, with a bit of extra reliability so you won’t cross your fingers every time you leave on a road trip. NP.

The Elio is not an EV (though it is supposed to be highly efficient). They’ve made upgrades, but it’s basically using the three cylinder engine from the Geo Metro IIRC.

Do you generate enough exhaust flow to spool up a turbo?

Does this really belong on the front page of GIZMODO. This is neither about technology or bashing Mr Trump. What has this world come to...dogs?

how is 41k a bargain? you used to be able to get evo’s for 26k

want a v-10 Miata, well they already made that

Derwin employee 1: How can we make a decade-old Italian supercar less reliable?

To be fair AMG was, until 1999, a separate company from M-B. M and Quattro have always been in-house.

The dealer gets paid to do warranty work. It’s a profit center.
