Yeah. I get the sense that not only are they squeezing as much power as they can out of these engines (within certain reliability tolerances, of course), but they’re trying harder than ever to save weight in each component. So things like, say, cylinder walls are going to be as thin as they can get away with.

Because Bentley makes luxury cars and grand tourers, not sports cars and exotics.

When a Civic is taxed until it costs almost $60k, why not get an ace of base Model S?

It’s all about volume. The WRX shares many parts and a platform with other cars and the BRZ / 86 does not. If you don’t put value towards light weight rear drive and only care about HP, 0-60 mph etc then it’s not the right car.

The BRZ is so overpriced in the first place ... not sure why it is almost the same price as the WRX but you get so much less.

The first WRX story is idiotic....he’s against WRXs and Subaru because he bought a POS modified one....OK. Also the second one, he hits a deer and flames....any car could do that.

The fact that the 86 twins are merely a good platform to start from is the problem. It’s got tons of potential, but none of it has been realized because Toyota/Subaru won’t push them past the baseline.

Were I to shop for a two-door 3.7L VQ-powered car, I’d shoot for a G37, mayyybe an IPL (remember those?) but certainly not a 370Z. It’s just so cramped, uncomfortable, and awkward, and the G doesn’t give much up performance-wise. Plus many go-faster bits are interchangeable.

Honda CR-Z. If it had managed to be an actual successor to the original CRX... what a car that could have been.

After the sc300 and sc400 they pulled this retirement home crap?

So many questions, the answer is always Fiero (when it’s not Miata).

That brings up another issue... using the brake lights for indicators. STUPIDEST thing ever.

I agree with your last sentence. However, if its cheaper to make it all red, but they have to make amber ones also.... how much more expensive would it be to just make them all amber?

Well, if you are to cheap to rent a car. There is only one way out I can see.

There are decent ones. Our 2012 Outback with the 4cyl and CVT is decent. Well, as decent as any non-performance dedicated auto can get.

Congrats! Have a cookie.

Do you want a cookie?

When I bought my truck the finance guy was pushing the extended warranties really hard.. lots of “you know, the ___ computer module costs $__” to which I responded “really, if I so badly need an extended warranty for all the problems this truck is going to have, then maybe I shouldn’t buy it”. That stopped him.. until

Well, that’s not how typical automotive journalists would have phrased that.

My vision may be failing me, but I somehow don’t think the NSX GT3 is going to be a “foot lower” than this:
