Not sure if you’re really asking, but just to let you know - No, the marketing teams and the action figure creators definitely do NOT get to read the script before making their stuff. They don’t get to read a script, they don’t get to see much (if any) footage, and they don’t know much of what happens in the movie.…

You’re 100% right on everything except that HBO also already had subscribers - which could then use the app. And then on top of that, HBO offered an a la carte version for people that didn’t have it yet (non-cable people, etc.) plus they didn’t only have 1 great show, they have a BUNCH.

If they’re really using Joshua Tree as the shooting title AND shooting there, it’s going to be really confusing for everyone in the area. They shoot tons of movies in my area and they use a big yellow sign with an arrow pointing the way and the shooting title on it to help everyone in the production find the shooting…
