Just going off of my experience. I am not sure if they assign a different build number or what. I just know that it happened and I had to do a full restore and sync all my apps and data back to my ipad and iphone again.

FYI. From previous experience. You will have to do a full restore on your phone again the first time a patch is released for iOS7. This happened to me with both the iOS5 and 6 GM builds. I was initially a little bummed that the slimmer Vita came out and I bought a used vita on ebay a couple months back, mainly because I wanted to have one for remote play with PS4. Now that I see the lower quality screen I am glad I have the version I do.
