Fair enough, Patrick. And I just read your piece about the family that was SWATted – great work. I guess after a few of the posts I'd seen of yours on this site I was afraid of watching your talents go to waste.

Patrick, I'm a huge fan of yours so I don't want to come across as a total dick, but when I heard you were leaving Giant Bomb so you could cover breaking news in video games again this isn't quite what I expected...
Walking Simulator 2016 is a game where you and your leather-clad, oiled up, bare-chested bros go for a stroll in the park.
Still leaving Thorn shitty, eh? Man, this is dumb :(
Am I the only one that thinks $1 billion is significantly undervalued? I mean, considering Google offered $10 billion for WhatsApp?
You are everything that is right in the world.
The charge system adds risk/reward at another level to the game. Without it, it becomes rock-paper-scissors on a grid where you just mash circle to choose "Attack" over and over again.
People who don't see that blow my mind.
The more I think about this, the more it bums me out. I'm perfectly fine with accepting the "charge" system as a happy accident: a genius idea spawned from necessity. What I'm bummed about is the disdain with it.
The thing that's so genius about that system is the inherent risk/reward tied to it. Do I cast on this tile…
I live in Maine but am trying to get work in San Francisco so I can move out there. Any other advice for me, Lifehacker people?
Ugh. Don't. Please. Too painful.
Sorry... I couldn't help myself. :(
Was this a 40-man raid? Or 10-man?
I like turtles.
I have canceled my Spotify, Netflix, and Hulu accounts to give the extra money to Comcast so I can continue to support gaming. $30 will get me an extra 150GB every month bringing me to 450GB for just under $130/month.
I had to re-download the majority of my Steam library this month because of a failed drive. My Steam…
This is why the thought of AT&T pushing everything towards digital phone service is a scary thought. Under the current system they could shut your phone service off or charge you extra to make calls as they begin to count voice against your data usage.
This is literally already happening to me. I live in a Comcast test market (Maine) and already struggle to make ends meet when my Internet bill is $92/month. If I exceed my bandwidth cap one more time then Comcast wants more money. The only reason I'm not streaming on Twitch right now is because I don't have any more…
Here's a fun fact for everyone: The top 10 NPD games for the month of December add up to a total of 223GB. That's 89% of the data cap for a lot of users. If we take a more realistic argument and say in January that our example gamer purchased NBA 2K14 (I know, I feel bad for our fictional example, too), Call of Duty:…
But ISPs Claim They Won't Do Any Of This — or — Why Worry? In the wake of last week's net neutrality decision, many ISPs have come out with statements promising that they love net neutrality and would never do anything to violate it. One option would be to trust them. Another would be to take a look at their history.…
Thank you :)
Thanks for the support!
