Here is the problem that most of the people in this conversation seem to be missing:

That is a lie that ISPs and corporations would love for you to believe. The fact of the matter is that the majority of piracy happens in environments not subject to data caps: businesses, street corners, and foreign countries. In November of last year, the federal government settled out of court with a maker of

This is a HUGE problem. Thank you Michael and Andre for covering this, and thank you Kotaku for posting it. So let's get everyone to take the next step. You read the article, you publish it, and you get the discussion going. What we need is for people to take action. What is Sony's stance on my Xfinity bandwidth cap

It's funny... he starts off saying "I've got some disappointing news" yet I'm not at all disappointed.

Slow fucking week, huh?

LOIC is for children. Grow up and find security exploits like an adult.

When I was a little kid, I used to set SMB3 or SMW to 2 players, and then kill off Mario so I could play as Luigi. True story.

Or you could just, you know, concede to the fact that it's a video game...

Fallout 3? I'm aware of Jamestown, and there were other settlements as well. But the pilgrims landing in the northeast (which, Connecticut IS the northeast, just FYI). The revolution began in Boston. This part of the country is far more historically significant than most of the country, simply because it's older. So I

Fair enough. All the more reason for the OP not to use it as an argument.

Again, we're talking about armageddon, all out fucking nuclear end of the world madness. Not a leak. We don't know how bad it would be, and here's to hoping we never find out.

We're talking about fallout from an all out, end of the world nuclear war. Not a reactor leak.

So what you're saying is you know nothing about geography. You know WHY all this shit takes place in the northeast? Because it was the first place settled in the country. There is more history here. It's less flat and boring, and there are four seasons.

The date the bombs went off is in 2077. Fallout 3 takes place like 200 years after that. I guess what people forget it the long-standing effects of radiation. The Last of Us was green and lush in areas because the soil and the landscape hadn't significantly changed - only humanity.

I don't see what is flat and boring about one of America's oldest cities. Maybe if they said "It takes place in Phoenix" then I could see that arguement, but... Also, WHAT THE FUCK WAS BORING ABOUT FALLOUT 3?! Watching the capitol crumble around your feet? I don't get it.

I'm SO happy to get this news. I don't tend to dig for rumors on my favorite franchises because eventually all the fake stuff would frustrate me, so I had no idea about the Boston rumors. As a New England native, I am really excited to see my home city get the post-apocalyptic retro-future treatment. The idea of

It's news. Get. The. Fuck. Over. It.

If by "doesn't have a place" you mean because the humor is super campy, then I agree.

1) Sorry, but sometimes stereotypes exist because they're, uhmmm... accurate?
2) By the same token, is Kotaku suddenly bigoted because when I read the original letter I imagined an adorable gay couple? Probably not. Which is why this isn't very sexist either, now is it? I'm all about social justice, but some sects of
