Lucky. There is one showing in SF on Monday at 6:30 pm. Even if I get off work early I won't be able to make it, bunch of hogwash. Apparrently WB has abandoned supporting this movie at all.

Hey AV Club, this is very much not in Theaters everywhere tomorrow. Its in super limited release in only LA and New York, and I think one showing in SF. Not sure why the studio has no faith in this movie.

She is doing artwork for the comic No Mercy written by Alexi De Campi that is a pretty amazing thrill ride. Reminds me of a super intense Joss Whedon run show. Also its in color and man does her art shine in color. The latest Finder volume "Third World" looks great.

How about Carla Speed McNeil with her excellent Finder series as well as numerous guest spots all over the place!

Me too. My fiance and I thought this looked terrible and would sit nicely along the also mediocre Cars.

I can't upvote this enough. Complete misread of Wreck-It Ralph. Especially since Penelope basically rejects her princess-ship.

Actually I can enjoy that but the movie fails at being meta. Sure it makes a few jokes here and there, and yeah he breaks the forth wall but then the movie ends up being almost more guilty of the things its making fun of. It completely plays straight long stretches of its "grimdark" origins. Everytime I rolled my eye

I'd argue it is there for the furtherance of the plot. Thats literally what these women were kept for. Their bodies, their beauty, and their perfection. The unfortunately name Vulvilini even point this out, even they are enamored at these creatures who have been untouched by the collapse of the world.

It isn't just a reason to show boobs as has been pointed out to you several times. Its a by product. Have you ever been in a sauna or steam room to the point of passing out? Thats what they just went through in that ride. Angharad even says so that they are suffocating to the heat. If the roles had been reversed for

What are you even arguing? That the movie would be worse if it had slightly better fleshed out characters?

I've worked in myriad malls and currently work in Security. I have yet to see an emergency exit door that indicates that police will be notified. Sure an alarm will sound but this was simply made up for this scene, not to mention why would the garbage room have a door that locks from the outside in a place where it

Kind of like the the jokes in Deadpool.

I can't think of a better essay to illuminate all the things wrong with Deadpool than David Foster Wallace's essay " E Unibus Pluram: Television and U.S. Fiction". There is something extremely shitty about a film that attempts to deflect criticism from itself by simply breaking the 4th wall and pointing out the the

> and it might take the piss out of a bloated trend of formulaic superhero movies

But then there is a problem when the very same people who say "oh its just a stupid movie" also say "It subverts comic book movies". I'm not exactly sure how it subverts them when its incredibly dumb and is more cliched than MCU or X-men movies

Exactly if anything, Deadpool's later incarnation is a direct reaction the stupidity that Liefield brought to comics.

Seriously. They have 3 women in the movie one of which is basically silent henchman 1, the other is a walking punchline, and the love interest's defining characteristic is how much she is in love with Wade.

What is her character? She isn't anything what window dressing. Her one character trait is that she is in love with Wade. Thats it.

I completely disagree. The film is completely at odds with this assessment with long stretches of the film played straight for its, gritty, dourness that plagued late 90's comics. I went in expecting to like the movie and came out just sad that such a juvenile and misogynistic movie is so popular. It traffics in irony

I believe it was Seth Bogart who brought gender into it by dismissing the terrible and dangerous advice Gwynyth Paltrow gives. Its not anywhere near as bad as Chris Brown for sure, but she didn't receive anywhere near the hatred that Chris Brown rightly deserves. I would still watch a movie with her in it, I don't
