I think you have missed the point of Leigh's character Daisy. At first I thought her treatment was misogynist, but as the film progresses we find Daisy to be the most cruel, spiteful, bile filled person in the entire cabin. Her and her cohorts are sociopaths they aren't just racist, callous, indifferent killers, they

What's worse with this scenario is it is completely out of character for Luke. Even if we assume Kylo killed his other students (which isn't known for sure) Luke going into hiding is completely out of character for him. Luke isn't the type of person to cower in the face of his failure, or to abandon his friends,

No I'm saying Luke had turned to the Dark Side and Kylo had either failed as his apprentice, or was carrying out his tasks.

Good argument.

I didn't even want him dead his performance left so much to be desired. I just wanted to put him on time out. He's like Joffrey we only fear him because he has an army behind him. He isn't some kind of imposing figure to be feared, or a skilled warrior, or anything really. Its as if the villain in the movie was little

Other major difference, is that Obiwan and Yoda on their own would have only helped the discovery of any kind of resistance group since Vader and the Emperor would be more easily able to sense them. Whereas in TFA Luke abandoning The Republic and The Resistance actively puts them at a disadvantage versus The First

Did you read my comment. The difference being that the Empire ruled the galaxy at that point and were actively looking to kill both Yoda and Obiwan. Here the Republic has returned to power so its not as if Luke has to go into hiding. The other major difference being Luke definitely teetered into the darkside in Jedi.

>because it showed how weak and broken he is

>Effective villains

Thought it was just okay. The villains were easily the weakest aspect of the movie varying between mediocre and terrible. That and the too too recycled plot from the original trilogy just felt boring. Basically boiled down to oh its this just BIGGER.

Or his attempt at making money back from the subway debacle and then doubling down on that decision.

Tell me about it. When a measured and quite episode of IMO one of the best dramas on TV gets a C rating with some of the worst analysis I've ever read, and things like the dreadful Flash and Arrow routinely are some of the highest rated shows on this site I can't tell if there is any quality left here.

Blunt's a great actress, but I was still struggling to believe her being able to carry all the equipment in this film. She looked way too scrawny to be a door busting FBI agent.

You can thank post-modernism for this. The whole everyone's viewpoint is equal relativism that has dangerous real world consequences.

Lucky you I had people clapping to the coup de grace seen which was horrifying. The movie horrified me less than some of the people reactions in the theater I was in.

Ummm, were you paying attention, it was the creators of the tesseract who stopped him from getting spaghettified. He never actually entered the black hole.

You gotta admit though that the plot to this is certainly extremely close to Red Planet. Get rid of the killer robot and both movies are about matter of fact survival on the red planet, the ending to both is almost identical.

My other issue with this reasoning is say on a film like Black Hawk Down or any military rescue movie this kind of quote wouldn't come up or even be mentioned. But when its a scientific endeavor suddenly there is "ethical" concerns about spending money on this vs that.

My problem with this idea is the fact that of most of the government agencies out there NASA is one of most underfunded and does so much with so little. This argument always rings hollow to me because for a price of a single day of any of the places we currently have troops deployed we could save millions of lives. At

"about the ethics of spending what must be billions of dollars to rescue one astronaut" Easily the dumbest line in a mostly good review. Especially considering the solution they find is likely the cheapest solution. Also what kind of statement is this really? We spend millions to save mine workers trapped in mines,
