I love me some Rasheen. However this is way to much. I even chased one down in my hometown of Melbourne, Australia to ask the owner about it. Something so dorky about it expecially with the little factory wheels and all the accessories such as the spare tyre cover. Someone wrote it looks like a Wartburg 353 estate desc

these are the next size down anf more of a  fashion accessory but kind of fun.

In the snow country of Japan all the tour operators ferry skiers around in 4wd Hiaces with 4 rows of 3. Heck of a time getting in and out with ski/snowboard boots on.

Sound on for this. I always loved this ad as a kid in the UK. Nod to ‘The Italian Job’ at the end? Turins finest.

Definatly a 1st gen Passat wagon

To avoid right hand turners blocking the trams running down the lines in the middle of the road. Its not to bad when you get used to it and makes everyone slow the hell down.

Jalopnik is being edgy.

Bizzare in the world of Vanagons that you would have a Hiace especially after reviewing this.

Learnt to drive a manual 5 speed Nissan urvan in Melbourne Australia doing these hook turns. Good times.

Good on you for giving it a go. I remember for me it was a real leap in at the time to listen to the album without prejudice. I was really into Hip Hop and Heavier music at the time I first listened to this and the percussion really blew me away.  Those songs you mentioned are the ones I rate but I also appreciate how

I like albums from all those bands. Have a listen to Pet Sounds without thinking its a Beach Boys album. Its quite dark in places. Forget Kokomo

No. Rubber soul had some influence on Pet Sounds but Pet sounds was released before Sgt Peppers.
Paul has also acknowledged Pet Sounds as the primary impetus behind The Beatles’ Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band album. How did it feel to be part of this interplay with Paul McCartney, and after the influence

How can you hate Pet Sounds?

Can agree. As a designer I’m more interested in Giorgetto Giugiaros designs of the Panda and original Golf than his supercars. Its not so hard to design something expensive and powerful compared to an economy car where production costs and manufacturing have to be balanced with all other criteria.

Can Attest, great cars. Heres mine earning money in a TV ad recently

There was this concept a couple of year back somehow they made it uglier. https://www.carsguide.com.au/car-news/toyota-tj-cruiser-gets-green-light-and-it-could-come-to-australia-77963

As a founding member of Tercel4wd .com I can attest to the slow but strong nature of these cars. A lot of these cars still on the road even with 1,000,000 kms on them. Not bad for an unloved econobox!

Heres someone else who did the trip to Alaska!

Is the Commodore photo near Mount Buller in Victoria by chance?

The only one I’ve not seen in Aus is the Mega Cruiser but have seen them in Japan (army version only). Prices have almost doubled in lockdown and last of the 200 series have been selling for $30k over retail as its the last of great Japanese Diesel V8's!
