The current raid tier on FFXIV is actually based on MMORPG renditions of some of the FFV bosses: Alte Roite, Catastraphe, Halicarnassus, Exdeath & Neo Xdeath. This game has successfully permeated modern gaming.

They did a good job mapping most things to a controller but if you are healing you can press up or down on the D-pad to target only members of your party.
