“The Maize from Westworld”
I vaguely remember during their trip to the Medium Place in the first season Janet saying her powers did not work out there, but I could totally be imagining that.
Could Janet not access her powers in the Medium Place? Otherwise I agree that is odd. If she could get wings for Jason I don’t see why she couldn’t get blow for Mindy.
I’m sure it will be, you know, fine. Not as potent as one would hope, and she might sneeze away some of it. Probably an adequate trip with a decent, but certainly not the worst, hangover. Maybe not quite worth the trouble... but it will do.
Maybe Mindy gets upgraded to the Good Place (Or sent down to the Bad Place) based on how she handls the main 4.
Well.... in a simulation, though they never consummated anything in reality! (Root/Shaw, that is)
Megan Amram tweeted out an “abridged” list of her restaurant puns for this episode and it is so glorious that I might have to form a religion from it with this as the founding document.
I feel like it’s a given that at *some* point, Mindy is actually going to get some cocaine, and it’s either going to be amazing and a delight to watch or completely disappointing and hilarious.
I agree that’s the most likely scenario. Another possibility is that they’re all in purgatory. Eleanor, Chidi, Tahani and Jason are slowly, incrementally becoming better people, through all these reboots, and Chidi mentioned karma this episode. The concept of karma is tied into the idea that you can work off your…
They’ve got to start trading notes with Bob’s Burgers.

Wasn’t the train serving Manhattan last season? Someone on the writing staff really hates clam chowder
If ever one of you guys gets to interview Schur or someone involved with this show, I would be fascinated to learn just how long it took to shoot this episode. Because the sheer number of set ups and wardrobe changes necessary for all those iterations of The Good Place must’ve been time consuming, yet so worth it.
We’re in Michael’s bad place. I’d bet almost anything on it at this point. He’s being punished. Some (or all) of the other demons might be, too. Sean’s not unaware of what’s going on; he’s the real architect. And at the rate this show burn through plot, that might be confirmed next week.
As a New Englander, I’m glad that they used New England clam chowder in the fountain (cuz the Manhattan one is nonsense), but I am offended how much Eleanor insulted the chowda.
Aw, and here I was hoping after last season’s tease that Eleanor and Tahani would eventually get together :\
The golden rule in The Good Place writers’ room seems to be “Never put off until next episode, that which you can do this episode.”
For the love of God, would someone please get Mindy some cocaine? She seems so sad without it.
The first 5 minutes of this episode is among the most hilarious things I’ve seen on TV, playing off the entire first season of character development while allowing new viewers to understand just what’s going on. “Meet your soul mate, Tahini.” Mindy walking in on them while she’s masturbating. Clowns on conveyor…
I think it was one of the comments on this site that predicted that Michael would team up with the four at the end of this season. Who knew Mike Schur and the gang blew this show up so early in the season. Can’t wait to see what happens next.
