The only reason they didn't was because Kai was linked to the others, if he died, so did they. Kai killing himself then coming back as a vampire took that away so they didn't have to worry about the collateral.

I hated the final season of True blood with the fire of a thousand suns. It was terrible, stupid, misguided and did not make any sense whatsoever. They screwed over so many great characters, especially Tara, the reason /i started watching that hideous show.

I like the whole Oedipus vibe they have with Enzo/Lilly it's quite weird but also fitting for him and at least it gives him a storyline.
