I know this is supposed to be a joke; adjacent to, but not quite reality, but here’s the statement:

I’m sure the accessories from the dealer will have some expanded plastic covers for them, maybe that stick out 2 inches or so from the vehicle. If not, the aftermarket will gladly take care of it. I imagine we’ll both know those arch covers well in the near future, because everyone will have them.

99% of it isn’t about capability, it’s about looking tough. These will go camping at a campground once or twice a year, just like all the giant trucks, but they’ll look super badass parking at the local strip mall and taking the kids to baseball practice.

I haven’t paid much attention to this, because I always thought the guy was a total asshole, so forgive me.

Yeah, rust is everywhere. I’m by no means a Toyota stan. I’ve had a couple (no trucks), and they were perfectly fine appliances. Living in the SW, I don’t have to worry about rust issues, but I’ve heard the stories. I’m not so sure they differ from any other brand on salted roads, but if so, then yeah, fuck them, too.

It’s been 18 months, so far maintenance has been a whopping $73 for an oil change. So I guess I still have a considerably better put together car, with better features, that is more comfortable and doesn’t require 2+ extra hours of charging on our quarterly road trips, while still being $19,927 ahead.

CLEAR membership is only $179 a year, and you don’t even need PreCheck*. So I’ve even saved you the $100 that you’d need for Global Entry*! This Lifehack presented by “define ‘free’”.

Squeaky balljoints on a 4Runner? Shit, that might be the worst 4Runner problem I’ve ever heard of that wasn’t trail damage.

No shit on the Volvo point. I haven’t seen one in person, but when we bought a new (used) car last summer, we ended up with a 4 year old Mercedes that was leaps and bounds better fit and finish than a Tesla, for less money. I wouldn’t mind having one, but I’m not going to pay $68k (Model Y long range with a couple

I heard all the news reports that teachers and their unions are way overpaid and we need to cut school funding because they’re all rich and whatever else fox news has to say to make sure people stay stupid, but damn. I didn’t realize teachers made “own field slaves” kind of money.

Well, he asked if they wanted “more”. So clearly whatever they were laughing at was some degree of all the things they’re reporting. They’re just afraid their texts are going to get reported when they do something racist, so they’re trying preempt the story with this, saying they’re totally not racist.

The REAL news is that the poll clearly underestimates their margin of error, which is 16%, according your and my math.

One point of disagreement.

You clearly haven’t been to a trailer park before, because this statement is completely untrue.

I didn’t really miss it, I just think you were idealizing the process a little bit. The victims often do get to participate, but it’s on the terms of the people in power, which is generally the racist cops/etc. So even though they can participate, much like you said, they’ll always come up on the losing end because

Trump already won. I saw a mid-30's guy at the park just yesterday wearing a hat and shirt that said TRUMP WON. It’s not all old racist fucks out there. They’ve done a good job passing down their racist fuckery to young racist fucks, even in a relatively well-off suburb.

People forget that bias (in an investigation) doesn’t magically make some evidence show up and others disappear.”

This point fails:

1st gear: I have a couple used car dealers in my family, and what they’ve noticed, in smaller markets (OKC, ABQ, and the like), is that the reason prices have increased in the Manheim auctions is because new car dealers are having to source more of their inventory, and after the pandemic, it’s easier for them to do so

I remember back when all the tech companies moved from CA to TX when I was a kid. It was a whole thing, with companies moving and news reports and it was the end of California. Yeah, the old “Nerd Bird”. Here’s an article from 2001 citing it:
