Here’s a good hypothetical math problem:

I actually tweeted this back at her when I saw her tweet about the topic. I’m sure it’ll be lost in the Twitter-sphere, but at least I took my shot @ her.

Well no one’s really discussing the $6,983,500,000 of other cuts she wants to make to education budgets. And all it took was public ridicule of people so soulless they don’t notice. So her plan is working?

At least Dolores Umbridge somewhat cared about education.

This is good because unripe persimmons are goddamn miserable.

The cruelty is the point. Fuck her and everyone like her forever.

> But given our current budget realities, the federal government cannot fund every worthy program

That’s actually insufficiently cynical. The fact of the matter is that, in addition to being thoroughly evil, Betsy DeVos is also dumb as a goddamn rock. She’s too dumb to recognize that just saying “We want to take money away from needy kids, just ‘cause” is a losing message, because she likes it and all the people

Plus she talks about the private organization being funded by private funds. Charter Schools are private organizations.

There is no damn way these Christians actually believe in hell.

Have you not been paying attention? The 4chan brigade is riding the Trump Train so hard it makes Lindsey Graham look like AOC.

Yep, and that’s the grift. They sell you on “The Dream” knowing full well it fuels the reality that they always profit off of. Sometimes two of those actions intersect so perfectly it’s jarring.

It takes a special kind of evil to be so comically awful that if JK Rowling tried to include you as a villain in one of her books, most people would complain about how unbelievable you are as a villain.

“There are dozens of non-profits that do just fine without federal money!”

I know there’s zero chance of anything happenings because Washington would collapse in on itself if members of the executive branch were made to obey the law, but, man, it’d be nice if Devos died in prison.

“But given our current budget realities...”

The cynical part of me, the part that stands in something like awe of, say, Mitch McConnell’s Bartleby-esque preference not to have a functioning government, that part can’t help but think that not funding the Special Olympics is a distraction from the real nasty shit DeVos is trying to pull in the area of cutting

Private schools make enough from tuition and bribes to require federal funding and tax breaks, but we’re not here to talk about that. Those children with disabilities are doing a fine job pulling themselves up by the bootstraps.

Aside from the abject cruelty, here’s the real kicker to DeVos plan. In her world, private donations would fund these programs. Yet, the tax cut championed by the people of her economic class that was passed, disincentivizes taxpayers from giving charitable donations.

make the olympics special again
