This. For someone who supposedly loved this movie so much as a kid, it really sounds like he never actually watched it. Also, I’m pretty sure killing someone in self-defense is not murder. Seriously, the bad guy, who has already been established as a killer, is pointing a sub-machine gun at the kid while telling him

That old-lady-glove-removal-reveal still gets me to this day

Oh man you don’t even get into the Old Couple. They’re straight up terrifying and all too ready to straight up murder a kid. I love this film.

Time for a dark and gritty reboot, but make it Calvin & Hobbes. Calvin would totally kill a dude with his “laser blaster.”

I disagree completely, this is a GREAT movie and moves pretty fast. Coleman is awesome in both his roles (great to see him as a nice guy for a change), Henry Thomas shows off why he is one of the greatest child actors ever, and his friend is adorable. The violence is pretty shocking, but it’s interesting to see a kids
