They came as kids or teens and have been here for 10 years are more. They have been here at minimum a third of their life. Additionally, they’ve either completed school or served in the US armed forces.
The average DACA recipient is 26 and arrived in the US at age 6, which means they have been living in the US as long as a new American-born adult. Unlike American citizens, they are required to stay out of trouble with the law and contribute to the US by doing something like going to college or joining the military.
