Thanks for the clarification! I reread the article, and I mostly agree with you in that the excessive "happy endings for everyone!" were there from the beggining.

I couldn't read all the comments, so I don't know if someone said this, but I think that what seems of about this episode stems from it's undefined status either as a series or season finale.
