Ah the honeypot...classic move Google.

@Canon7D-Fanboy: Still I see a lot of their stuff being designed not in house. That's not a bad thing, but I wouldn't say all their stuff is the greatest looking design wise anyway.

Was the other dell streak good enough to warrant making another one of these things? What even made you think a 7" phone without the phone part would be a good idea? Same goes for Samsung, but hey I guess they felt like they had to make something just to please somebody.

@Canon7D-Fanboy: They also don't design it. Dell used to rely solely on outside design consultancies and overall didn't pay much attention to their industrial design department. I believe they have now constructed an in-house design department and it now at least carries into their computer designs. I don't know who

@SuramaAte: yeah I think my point was, if it's blacked out you aren't watching it live unless you are at the game, so that's not a downside.

@hodayathink is walking in the glow of love: Yeah I think that option just needs to be available alongside cable (and was in response to the torrent library comment). I'm not saying that $20 a show is the right price, I just think that eventually that's what's going to win in this model. I'd like to just something

@hodayathink is walking in the glow of love: I think it's good enough for us because we don't care as much about TV. My entertainment isn't depending on it. I think the next generation isn't depending on it and that's where we will see the shift.

@kraegar001: You can buy an NFL Ticket or whatever directTV calls it online and watch everything online. It's like $50 for the season. Motorsports I don't know about.

At this point, shipping stock Android differentiates you more than shipping a your skinned version.

@reuthermonkey: Well beyond just a froyo ROM which is an improvement, different kernels make a huge difference. I've run probably 5 different Froyo ROMs and kernels and eventually found the combo that gave me the best performance.

@Dogen: Just try a few. Make sure to back up your apps too. I use titanium backup, works well. Also, those launchers are worth checking out regardless. LauncherPro is my favorite. Anything on there usually runs better than the stock sense that came with my Dinc.

@Dogen: Honestly, it's not just about being about to run whatever ROM I want. The custom kernals, speed increases, and the drastically improved battery life are all things that you get when you root.

The way I look at it is this. How many phones out there run stock Android? Those are the only true Android phones. Pretty sure they are all running 2.2, one is running 2.3.

@Mike Zuniga : Bah, Humbug: Well if they wanted to acknowledge that then this article wouldn't have been sooooo compelling.

@Sprzout: Your point was going slow behind a bicycle. If you are going that slow normally than that's your own fault. Yeah they don't do anything because it's not against the law. Just because you can't drive in the bike lane doesn't mean a cyclist can't bike in the driving lane. If someone needs to merge into traffic

@Sprzout: I doubt any cop would pull you over for being behind a cyclist going that slow. They aren't any more of a nutjob than drivers for being there on the road. Getting frustrated with them isn't going to help. That half mile wouldn't make a difference to me, but if it was for miles than that would be a problem.

@Sprzout: Yeah. Funny how those bike lanes hug the street parked cars. Then you get the smart people swinging their doors open and not looking and have cyclists swerve into traffic. You're supposed to ride to the left side of the bike lanes, passing cars usually can only pass if they give a cyclist 3ft of space.

Oh well, as a consumer who owns an Android device, I'm happy. I don't care about other people's phones.

@Benedinho: And XDA is the good part of open source. Those guys/gals update their roms quicker and more reliably then carriers/manufacturers. Not to mention the builds are better, faster, improve on your battery life etc.

@LBCanCook: I agree Sony stands to lose from this. But I don't know if attacking Geohot is the right way to go about it. As I have understood it, his firmware still has the piracy protection system left in. Someone else would have to bypass that I assume.
