She was pretty good as an over the top version of herself in Bojack Horseman.

Worth watching, however, is 1990's TV movie, A KILLING IN A SMALL TOWN, which starred a never better Barbara Hershey as Candy, and was superbly directed by Stephen Gyllenhaal (Jake and Maggie’s talented father).
There are dozens of them but:
They’re about the same age, so that’s a victory! It’s clearly the Year of the Woman, especially if you ignore the whole Roe thing!
So that’s why there’s a sudden Vaseline shortage. I thought it was a supply chain issue.
My takeaway there is how faith is often tightly coupled with family. Though rather than explicitly explore that idea (6 episodes isn’t enough time for everything else here as it is) they just let that resonate for those who see it and let it lie for those for whom it doesn’t.
Re Marc getting into ‘heaven,’ I interpreted it as Marc (via Steven) finally accepting his ‘good’ side back into himself, and forgiving himself for his brother.
This guy gets it. I'm just here for the fucking ride. And it's wild.
There is so much I love about this series...Diab’s direction, the music over the end credits slaps harder than the score of the rest of the episodes, and Isaac is seven kinds of remarkable in this one.
I dunno man I’m just really fuckin’ diggin it.
I am angry that there is only one episode left. This should have been a 13 episode show. Oh well.
There was nothing hilariously stupid about Steven asking Taweret to get a message to Layla. Taweret is a god, with an avatar, and that would be well within her abilities. She was just seeing that the gods’ laws were being broken and Steven naturally thought she may break her own rules in that moment and offered a…
Burn in hell, Jean. I HATE these people who throw up the ol’ “Have the baby, then give it up for adoption!” like that’s nothing. If I had gotten pregnant in my broke and irresponsible 20s, when I was utterly unprepared to be a mother, I still would never have been able to give that baby up. Maybe some women could; I’m…
So, being a monster is gender-neutral.
She can choose to raise the child,” she told the committee. “She can choose to give that child to a loving family member, or give it to someone else.
Making my cry on a wednesday, how dare you Moonknight! That scene on the street was so raw, for me it was probably the most emotional thing Marvel has ever done. Also, the little detail of Marc’s brother drawing a fish with one fin and that drawing hanging in Marc’s room after his death? It kills me.
Appreciated the strong links to Judaism (is this the first time we have confirmation of Marc being Jewish in the series?) At the two Shivas we had the memorial candle, the k’riyah pins and even the mirrors were covered in the background. Marc was even wearing a Kippah!
I’m quite fond of Turning Red too.
It is already a better South East Asian Mother/daughter story than Turning Red and I suspect it is going to be a better multiverse story than Doctor Strange. Although there is nothing wrong with having multiple good movies in any sub-type.
