This is mostly due to the fact VR just came out along with Nvidias new cards. At the time when these consoles came out they were adequate, but Pc just took a giant leap forward which leaves the consoles with not much of a choice.

Almost every single piece of technology is on a yearly schedule and people don’t complain. Stop making this an issue.

With Scorpio releasing holiday 2017, that would mean 4 full years of Xbox One gaming before this upgrade. (X1 came out November 2013).
