Yes!! I completely agree. Elena tried to save and protect her friends and family time and time again. They all just got dealt a crappy hand.

The only reason that didn't hit home as much as it should have was because of the ridiculously stupid flash forwards. I knew Damon was back in business the next episode. They took all the mystery and emotional weight out of every single scene.

Yet another time the writers forget their own history!! Damon explained to Enzo what he had to do to leave him. He didnt leave him out of selfishness, he had to turn off his humanity in order to survive. And Enzo seemed to get it and forgive him. Im so tired of characters forgetting their own history and development!

Everything you're saying is spot on and exactly the #1 problem with the writing on this show… they seem to completely ignore character development and what we know of each person to suit the current storyline. If we can all remember, why can't they???

I loved 1-6, but 4 was my least favorite. I'm a Delena fan and Katherine fan, so there were some great episodes/moments for me. But all the cure talk and wandering around the island got tedious.

So much Kat in this episode was such a joy, and look what she does to any character she works with… Damon, Nora, Enzo… Anytime she's heavily featured with another actor, even one we haven't previously liked, they are instantly better. I found myself smiling a lot during the Bonnie/Enzo scenes. They were sweet and

I haven't watched this episode yet (and to be honest, reading the reviews and comments here after the show is more enjoyable lately). But while looking for something on YouTube tonight, I stumbled on the motel scene between Damon and Elena in 3x19. One of my all time favorite scenes, but the moment of awe and longing

Funny, because Greys is my other favorite and I just finished binge watching the first 11 seasons. What I notice the most between the two is the incredible character development that happened on Greys. Every storyline enhanced and changed the characters and the writers remember that. Season 12 Alex is never season 1

I really wanted Valerie to die doing the spell. They set it up. It's normally done with 2 and yet she pushed herself too hard. Even Bonnie died doing a spell too hard for her. That would have been appropriate. But she doesn't die and just leaves because Stefan doesn't love her as much as she loves him? WHAT? This

Oh Stefan and Caroline… nice try writers. The only time I've ever felt love from Stefan was for Elena. Katherine was different - that was more of an enchantment - being tempted by something dark and dangerous. Valerie felt mostly forced, or a little pitied. And Caroline is just off. Like if you tried to date your best

I completely agree with the marking time aspect. That's exactly it. The last heretic is gone and for what? The HUGE build up at the end of S6 to Lily and the heretics and nothing happened. I feel like all they did was suck up the time our regular cast should have had.

I think the key is that no one knew who the guys were voting for. I think they could have assumed Cydney for flipping on her old tribe, but they didn't know for sure. So Aubry, who picked up on Julia's two timing pretty quickly, was good to be suspicious and not want to end up going home if Julia voted with them.

That was an incredible episode for me. I'm loving Cydney and Aubry and absolutely despise Scot and Jason. I got really worried Cydney would be going home if Julia stayed with the guys and Joe refused to flip, so for me, I'm glad it was Debbie. I find Aubry to be an incredible player. I get that no idols were flushed

Well, because it's still only season 3. Season 3 of TVD was one of the best and some of my favorite tv of all time.

Exactly. Google her name. She's at every major event, always photographed. No, she's not at a Jennifer
Lawrence point in her career, but she wasn't really in the headlines all
that much more during her time on TVD either. I think her place in this
industry is still strong.

It's not failing. If you follow her on IG or anything, she's already been in several movies since leaving.

Nina's career is fine. She's already been cast in like 4 or 5 movies since leaving. Everyone else wants out because the show is failing and it's true - Elena was the glue and without her the show is aimless. It didn't have to be that way, but that's what we got.

It's the VERY poor writing that emerged this season. They took all the wonderful character growth and development and threw it out the window for whatever they felt like writing this week. Damon and Stefan have already gone through major trauma time and time again and survived. We can be done with that and turn to

I COMPLETELY agree. I wanted more too, but I wanted more of the world with Elena in it. I knew it couldn't recover and it's a shame. I hope they take the next few months to really figure out a way to end this series on a good note, and I think a lot of that will depend how much Nina is willing to come back for. At

I was thinking about that the other day too. That these heretics were introduces at the end of S6 and built up SO much and then… nothing. They didn't really do anything. They didn't further the plot, they didn't enhance the plot or anyone else's character development… they just really were pointless. :/
