I'm pretty sure Ward didn't kill Buddy, he let him run away and then Garrett killed him instead from the truck with the rifle. Which is important because its the same thing Ward does for FitzSimmons when he dropped them into the ocean cause he knew if he didn't get them off the plane Garrett would've killed them…
