“We ruin her by turning her into a verb.”

You’re mistaken. One of the many beauties of English is that it’s so plastic. We invent vocabulary. We noun verbs and verb nouns. We have no Academie Anglais to police our vocabulary or our usage. And that’s a good thing.

Admittedly, “to Marie Kondo something” is more euphonic than “throw out your old crap, you hoarder, you’re gonna attract rats.”

That’s right, you freaking heathens. You can’t “Marie Kondo” something.

“This entire storage unit filled with TRESemme products costs less than what I pay for a bang trim!”

Exactly how many of these influencers are the real deal? How many of them have anything going for them except parental celebrity or average-at-best looks? I would bet a good part of the outcry against this twit is the logical culmination of years of Kardashians/Hadids/Kardashian- or Hadid-types making googobs of money

Not an arbiter, but definitely a consumer. Consumption without thought is vapid, not worthwhile, and unfulfilling.  And in my opinion, stupid.

Each individual IS the arbiter of substance for them. No one owes you a duty to perform anything, but if they want to be seen a certain way, then you do have to do something to indicate you are the way you want to be seen. If all you put out is shallow bullshit, it is NOT unreasonable for people to come to the

I watched the first episode of the first season of Project Runway back in 1952 or whenever it was and the only thing I can remember is that they seemed to have only two sponsors, Tresemme (however it’s spelled) and Amaretto di Saronno, for some reason. With Tresemme they took the models to the Tresemme salon or

The idea that she’s supposed to make us believe she uses Walgreens-level hair care products makes me laugh.

Judging someone based on the content of their character is exactly what is happening here. And if the content of someone’s character is so vapid and void of any substance, we should judge away. No one needs to like that.

Well, she is kinda presenting herself as someone who cares only about her looks/photogenic opportunities.  Of course she might be some deep thinker or humanitarian in private but ... from what we see of a person who has chosen a public life, she doesn’t show any interests beyond shilling whatever crap she’s been paid

TRESemmé? Oh, Olivia, sweetie. If you’re going to be a top-tier beauty icon you’ve got to land better sponsors than a brand best known for keeping all their retail prices under $4.99.

No press is bad press,

I worked for one of the companies listed until last year. They will DEF drop her at the slightest whiff of scandal. They’ve cut ties and eaten massive amounts of money with troubled A list talent, let alone one of a sea of influencers. The reaction might be less obvious because influencer content is often a one off

How ironic would it be for her to lose so much credibility as an influencer that she actually has to work and study to make her dreams come true in life. Haha j/k. She’s still a spoiled , vacuous, blue blood with more unearned inherented money than she’ll ever need.

I had never heard of this girl until yesterday, but when I did I totally went down a rabbit hole. Including, I’m ashamed to admit, watching many of her YouTube videos. But you know what? I watched a couple right before bed and I had the best night’s sleep I’ve had in a loooong time. She’s so shallow and vapid that it

Considering I had never heard of this girl until yesterday, it’s unbelievable to hear Olivia Jade has this many deals with brands.

Ohhhhh I get it now. Are you sad that people think Instagram influencers are dumb bimbos/himbos? Are you seriously defending the ‘profession’? Didn’t you watch the Fyre documentary? These people are a waste of oxygen.
