The problem the Human Stain had is that the character had to believable appear white. Well, Anthony Hopkins certainly fits that bill. He also had to be secretly African American. In all fairness, Shoah is more lighthearted than Snyder’s dark films. (Yes, that is exaggerated snark and sarcasm. Though both Hitler’s and Stalin’s mothers were named Martha.)

Good lord did they screw this movie up. First, the writer (George Goldsmith) who adapted the original Children of the Corn is some sort of savant. All the good scenes in the original movie (The killing of the adults, Isaac and Malachi going at it in the climax, were his invention.) This movie cut all that good stuff…
