They aren’t teaching her that capitalism is the best way or the only way. They are giving her some skills and knowledge to participate in what we have right now. Calling it indoctrination is bullshit. Capitalist survival skills would be far more apt.

Not enough chins, I was expecting something more Jabba-esque.

Wow, that picture is exactly how I imagined a Mississippi state rep would look.

This program sounds...quite good? I’m so not understanding the critique.

Brownie leader here. I actually really like this shift in the cookie program. In the olden days (waaaay back in the 80s) when I was a wee Girl Scout myself, Cookies were just “go out there and sell those cookies, girls, make that $$!” without any context or skills. The business badges and programs add a component of

Lmao, no. I am Council staff, program namely. I personally oversee and work with our Camp CEO. Every Camp CEO runs differently, and to paint them all the same is irresponsible, and also just not correct. I won’t speak to the Cookie CEO badges- those are from GSUSA and not created by individual Councils.

Our Camp CEO is

Counter-argument: Please continue exposing my daughter to the idea that she can lead entire organizations and acclimating her to terminology that is relevant in the business world. There are few down-sides to her becoming the CEO of a successful company. Exposing her to common business terminology shows her that these

Our bodies know what to do, but also that thing it should do also wreaks havoc.

It’s all about controlling women. A journalist asked State Senator Chambliss —the man who sponsored the atrocious Alabama bill—about the embryos that are disposed of every year at fertility clinics. He said “The egg in the lab doesn’t apply. It’s not in a woman. She’s not pregnant.”

I’ll say this: I’m 35, and the thought of waking up two years from now and finding myself in a high-profile social media makeup feud with a 19 year old boy feels like one of the more embarrassing directions my life could potentially take.

Why would you even know the WMATA stopped ticketing for eating/drinking on trains? That seems like something an employee would know, not a commuter. So if you see an employee eating, maybe just assume they’re ok to do it and live your life.

After episode 3, with the lack of pay-off for the Azor Ahai prophecy, I realized how much I was excusing Beinoffs’ poor writing of the last couple of seasons. I really, really, really needed a good, clever, eye-watering payoff for the longest and (in my eye) most important storyline of the series. I mean, the last

It is a sad day and a pretty good indication on the state of affairs at the White House when you are not overjoyed to be at *The* White House, meeting *The* president...

Single father here and I agree completely. People are all the time saying stuff like “I don’t know how you do it,” etc.

The same way the dozens of women in the organization who are single mothers do it, only with a penis and a bunch of unnecessary fawning.

Women get screwed at every angle. If you work long hours, you are selfish. If you work part-time, you may not make enough for child care. If you stay home with the kids, you better be able to immediately find a job and support yourself if your husband dumps you.

Agree totally. One of the male professors at my grad school regularly drove his children to and from school. This fact was so shocking and impressive that the school-run news paper wrote an article about it.

“Discrimination and family-unfriendly policies are among the causes, but research has suggested another influence: “The returns to working long, inflexible hours have greatly increased” in this “winner-take-all economy.”

Seriously. Where the fuck are we?  Forget the darkest timelime thing. We’re into a whole different universe.

Welp, made it until 9:25 on a Monday morning before I hated everything. Great job everyone.

I wish I was at all surprised by this. Instead, I’m just very, very tired of trash men.
