I’ll also never understand why men care so goddamn much about other men’s careers. Why do you care if another man’s career is “ruined” by their own actions. It’s really about protecting their own bad behavior and the reputation of the university.

I agree 100% with everything you said. I haven’t read the first book but from what I heard of the beating scene, they handled it WAY better in the show. I will never watch the last episode of season 1 again.

It remains to be seen what they do with Mr. willoughby. I would disagree that Claire immediately forgives Jamie and that he doesn’t make an effort to gain his forgiveness. I agree that the consequences of that could have extended a bit further out though. I think rape has been handled alright so far in the show.

It’s true. I watch stuff without my husband all the time! But if it’s the two of us in front of the TV it’s either something HE likes or something we both like.

That’s what I figured when I saw that scene. I was trying to remember if they said anything about that in the show.
