Until Kanye West comes out and says "I have a mental illness" we should treat him as a person who is completely in his right mind and fully in control of his actions.
Do we really want Trump making executive decisions, tho?
Kanye West is a fucking clown cake, but I think people may be selling him short in this case. I don't think he's seeking validation from White people (that would imply that he wants to be seen as their equal). West is too much of a narcissist for that. I think he wants them to acknowledge that he's better than them.
The NYT can disagree. But, I maintain, Tomi Lahren is not espousing fringe opinions. In my opinion, all the Daily Show didn't legitimize her; it just acknowledged the existence of an attitude that was already co-signed by tens of millions of Americans. .
I learned everything I ever needed to know about Farrakhan from this music video.
For real though, given Trevor Noah's overall style on the Daily Show and the way he typically interviews people, can we honestly say that he handled her with kid gloves?
While I see the argument about the bigger platform, I don't agree with the idea that going on the Daily Show "legitimized" Tomi Lahren's position (but that's because I think the stances she takes are, in fact, mainstream).
Honestly, I'm really starting to have a problem with the idea that trying to limit people like Lahren is somehow going to improve the public discourse. Part of the reason President Trump is a thing is because large swaths of the country wanted to elect a living 'fuck you' to the mainstream media culture that they…
One thing I'm having trouble understanding is why people think she shouldn't have been on the Daily Show. I, obviously, am opposed to her politics, but I understand this contention that she shouldn't have been let on the show. Ijs, they let Bill O'Reilly on that mu'fucka.
Equating BLM with the kkk with a straight face, wholeheartedly believing it
I been listening to Charlemagne since high school, when he was on Hot 103.9 in Columbia. He does this weird thing where he gives some very odd and ignorant ideas about a lot of subjects that he admits he knows very little about. The man is just another voice to take into account, not somebody to heed.
This is where I disagree; Tomi Lahren, for all of the ridiculous BS she says, IS NOT an extremist. The stances she takes are not fringe. Even is she herself is not quite "mainstream" her opinions most definitely are. Noah and Charlemagne aren't granting her legitimacy; she had that already.
Be real. What did actually expect Charlemagne or Trevor Noah to do? They are creatures of the media, just like Lahren.
Nothing. They didn't do anything wrong.
Tomi Lahren gets a resounding "Meh" from me. She's not some archvillain; she's the average girl from the a Young Libertarians club that happened to land a TV show. I really don't care. Let that girl cook.
Worst thing is, you can tell when somebody's not into it, but you don't want to say anything because you don't want to insult her. And you're just left there; she's on her phone, I'm thinking of ________ from Winston-Salem in an effort to bust faster - neither one of us are trying to drag this out.
At its very best, is just a hopeful but inaccurate facsimile of actual v***ina.
I know I've been saying this since 2009, but it bares repeating; the most overrated thing in the world is Kanye West. Why do people find that man so interesting??
That's what I'm getting at; they appear to "other" members of their own race in a manner & to a degree that I haven't really observed in minorities. This has got me wondering; do White people even see themselves as a group?
